DIRECTOR, CINEMATOGRAPHER, EDITOR

Hillary is an award-winning documentary filmmaker based in Taos, New Mexico. Originally from Farmingdale, Maine, Hillary began her career with the renowned documentary company Kartemquin Films in Chicago, earning credits on over a dozen critically acclaimed films and series including the Emmy-award-winning Trials of Muhammad Ali and Oscar-nominated Minding the Gap. After founding Backbone Films in 2016, Hillary went on to earn cinematography credits on films such as The Dilemma of Desire, which premiered at SxSW in 2020 and the award-winning Any Given Day. She is the editor of National Geographic’s Emmy-award-winning The Flagmakers, Frontline’s Emmy-nominated American Reckoning, and a New York Times’ Edward R Murrow award-winning series. Hillary is the director, shooter, and editor of the critically-acclaimed feature documentary Represent, which premiered in over 60 theaters across the country and broadcast nationally on PBS’ Independent Lens in October 2020.

PRODUCER

Sarah is a documentary producer based in Los Angeles, CA. She has collaborated closely with award-winning directors including Liza Mandelup, R.J. Cutler, Cecilia Peck, Nancy Schwartzman, and Ben Sinclair. In 2022 and 2023, she served as a Producer at This Machine Filmworks under EVP Elise Pearlstein, where she oversaw multiple projects in development and production. Her acclaimed documentary Jaripeo premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2026 and is continuing to play at festivals globally, including Berlinale, CPH:DOX, Hot Docs, and Margaret Mead. Sarah was a 2023 Points North Fellow and her producing work has received support from Sundance, ITVS, ARTE, Catapult Film Fund, Chicken & Egg Pictures, SFFILM, IDA, Field of Vision and RandomGood Films.

PRODUCER

Sergio is a documentary filmmaker native to Rapa Nui (Easter Island). His content priorities are in uplifting under-represented voices and telling stories about environmental conservation. His award-winning directorial debut, EATING UP EASTER, was screened around the world and broadcast on PBS’s Independent Lens in 2020. In 2021 he produced and edited BRING HER HOME, the latest feature by director Leya Hale (Dakota/Dine) which follows three Indigenous women as they work to vindicate and honor their missing and murdered relatives who are victims in the growing epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. Sergio also developed and produced THAT GOT WEIRD, an animated digital series about racism and microaggressions. As one of the only native Rapanui working in documentary film, he seeks to uplift under-represented voices and create thought-provoking media around environmental conservation.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Kahlil is an Emmy Award-winning director and producer. He is an executive producer, director and creator of the HBO documentary series “Navajo Police: Class 57” currently streaming on MAX. His most recent feature documentary, WILDLAND, won two Emmy Awards for Editing and Cinematography as the season-premiere broadcast of acclaimed PBS series Independent Lens. Kahlil’s debut feature, LOW AND CLEAR won the Audience Award at the SXSW Film Festival and was named Paste Magazine’s “100 Best Documentaries of All Time.” His work has screened and won awards at film festivals including Tribeca, South by Southwest, AFI, Hot Docs, IDFA, Camden and True/False. He is a Sundance Institute Time Warner Fellow and received the Discovery Impact Award at the Sundance Film Festival. Born and raised in Juneau, Alaska, Kahlil is an enrolled member of the Tlingit & Haida Tribes of Alaska and is T’aakdeintaan (Sea Tern Clan) as well as English and Filipino. He holds an MFA in film directing from UCLA and is the department chair and associate professor in film production at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

is a leader in using storytelling to drive social impact, applying a strategic framework he developed at his impact agency/consultancy Stir and while serving as Participant Media's EVP for digital, brand, and business development. At Participant, he led the creation of digital communities and created impact agency/consultancy Tag, which had clients Disney, Intel, American Express, MacArthur Foundation, and Gates Foundation. Prior to Participant, he was a pioneer in branded entertainment at Pepsi, Ogilvy-where he was the head of emerging technology and innovation—and as co-founder of Integrated Entertainment Partners. He was also a consultant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and has an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School. He is an Edmund Hillary Fellow and a fellow of the RSA. He teaches at UCLA’s Anderson School and served as Chair of the Ad Council Issue Advisory Board.
